I want you to creating at least a 8 entry diary or journal spanning your entire journey out west. Reflect on the experiences so far on what the experience would have been like and the primary sources. Come up with a perspective you will be taking of the journey- Father, Mother, Son, Daughter and include the rest of your family on the journey with you. The journey can start from any city from United States.
Things to think about why writing your diary/journal
Each post must be at least 2-3 sentences describing that days events and anything that happens between posts.
You will be graded on how well you transfer the knowledge you've gained and how well you can Write Like a Historian through the experience of looking through their eyes.
Things to think about why writing your diary/journal
- Why are you moving West? Push/Pull Factors?
- The excitement, sadness, fear of the journey!
- Space out your journal dates. It takes 3-4 months!
- What do you bring? How did you gather more things during the long journey?
- What experiences you have on the way?
- The hardship you encounter! Did anyone die? Disease?
- You wont always know what happens next!!
- Be creative in the story line!
